Hafa Adai! from Guam, USA

Hafa Adai is "Hello" in Chamorro, the native language of Guam.

My family is so excited to finally be traveling to my dad's place of origin, the Western Pacific island of
Guam. We leave Oct 30, 2009 to go to NYC then on the 31st depart for Guam via Tokyo. This is the blog detailing our last planning moments and the two weeks we will have there to enjoy the culture and the many, many family members yet to meet!

Location of Guam

So quite a few people have been asking me about the location of Guam. They've heard of it, but have no idea where it is located. Many people think it is near Puerto Rico, since PR is also a US territory. Actually, no...Guam Is located in the South Pacific Ocean. It is southeast of China and Japan, and directly east of the Philippines. It is actually about 3/4 of the way from Hawaii to the Philippines. If you want to get technical, its geological coordinates are 13 28 N, 144 47 E.
Guam, is the largest and southernmost island in the Marianas and is the westernmost possession of the United States, and has been since 1898.
